Job Description
We are a prestigious, gated golfing community located in beautiful northern Palm Beach County, Florida, looking for a dedicated part time, weekend (Sat. & Sun 7am – 3pm) security officer to join our extraordinary team of priorietary (in-house) professionals. This individual must be personable in both attitude and presence, professional at all times, with great computer skills and a class D license. Must be available to fill in other shifts, as needed. Willing to train.
Responsibilities
- Job Tasks/Duties
- Complies with HOA, Club, and Security policies and procedures as established in the Employee Handbook and the Standard Operating Procedures, or as demonstrated as common practice.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Patrol as directed all areas of the property, keeping alert for suspicious persons, vehicles or incidents; safety deficiencies, fire, theft of company owned equipment, personal injuries.
- Know, understand, and enforce HOA and club rules involving parking, traffic rules, golf cart rules and other infractions.
- Person Access Control Duties at the gate by utilizing telephone, hand radio, computer and other systems to determine persons properly cleared for access, and denying access to those who are not cleared.
- Be familiar with all computer, telephone and camera systems.
- Report any suspicious or unusual occurrences or deficiencies to immediate supervisor through the use of Incident Reports to ensure there is proper documentation of incidents.
- Write concise, clear and complete reports on all accidents and incidents in a timely manner.
- Perform lock/unlock duties as assigned.
- Assist in the training of new employees in proper procedures.
- Complete guard tour rounds as required.
- Utilize good customer service skills and common sense in all encounters with residents, visitors, guests and others.
- Participate in mandatory meetings and emergency and safety protocol as directed.
- Participate in and pass required training seminars.
- Maintain and clean equipment provided such as vehicles, radios, computer and the cleaning and janitorial cleaning of the Guard House.
- Perform special projects as assigned.
- Assist all residents, members, guests, vendors, other staff and other departments as approved by the Director of Safety and Security.
Requirements

- Valid Florida Driver’s License that meets requirements for driver insurability.
- Proficient and experienced in ABDI computer system.
- Must possess a State of Florida Class “D” Security License or have the ability to obtain one with 60 days or employment.
- Maintain up to date AED and CPR certification.
- Prior experience preferred, but willing to train.
- Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Must be able to reach, bend, stoop, stand and lift up to 25 pounds.
- Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
- Moderate noise level in the work environment
- Constant exposure to south Florida weather.
